Imperial have secured their place in the semi-finals at Dreamhack Open Montreal following their 2-0 victory over Luminosity in Group B's decider match.

The second elimination match kicked off on Imperial's map pick, Cache, which saw the Brazilian side pick up their T pistol and the following anti-ecos for a 3-0 start. Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas and his men then rallied back as CTs, holding the line for three of their own to even the scoreline.

The Brazilians then took a more aggressive approach, with Lucas "steel" Lopes and Henrique "HEN1" Teles putting in most of the work to earn their team's fourth, setting Luminosity up for another run (6-3). It didn't take Imperial long to get back in form, defusing the bomb two rounds in a row to make it 6-5.

The aggressive offense from Luminosity proved to be effective, securing three of the last four rounds of the half for a 9-6 score.

Imperial came out in the second half with fire in their bellies, racking up six rounds to take charge for the first time in this game (12-9). Luminosity then tightened their defense, securing five straight, before Imperial came knocking with four of their own to claim the 16-14 map victory.

The series then moved on to Overpass. Imperial saw the brighter side of things on their T side, with a clean pistol and the following anti-ecos going their way. Luminosity managed to get on the board in the fourth round, securing the A site to earn their first of the half, but the celebration didn't last long as Imperial struck back, claiming three in a row for a 6-1 lead.

From there, the Brazilian side tried with all of their might to hold back Imperial's tenacious offense, but EspiranTo and co. ran away with their lead, winning six out of eight rounds to lock down a 12-3 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Luminosity got the start they needed on their T side, winning the T pistol and the following anti-ecos to cut the deficit to 6-12. But then a strong defensive display from Imperial was enough to stop the Brazilians in their tracks, with the European side winning four rounds in a row to punch their ticket to the semi-finals in Montreal.
